For the record.
In case anyone was wondering, I am (perhaps surprisingly) not vehemently anti these Lindsay Lohan photos by Bert Stern copying his final photo shoot with Marilyn. I know, I know, I hate hate HATE LiLo, but that's not the point. All these so-called Marilyn "purists" are saying it besmirches her memory and other such tripe. They seem to be forgetting the fact that Norma Jeane was an emotionally and mentally unstable starlet, addicted to drugs and alcohol, prone to self-destructive behavior, public indescretion, and not wearing underwear. Sound familliar? Marilyn, in her day, shocked her world more than Ms. Lohan could EVER shock ours. I don't know if Lindsay reads Joyce on the sly, or has desperate aspirations to play Grushenka one day, but I'm sure she has depths nearly equal to those of Norma Jeane that nobody cares to acknowledge.
